The historical claim that Crimea was taken 'without a shot being fired' is false — at least two Ukrainian soldiers were shot dead by Russian forces in Crimea in 2014 and the minesweeper Cherkasy was attacked (per BBC). Verdict unchanged at mixed: the policy half accumulates corroboration, the historical half remains false.
