It follows Putin's 2 September claim of 13 encircled Ukrainian battalions near Pisky-Radkivski, some 16 kilometres from the front.

Context: False as a claim of territory seized. ISW, which assesses control from geolocated evidence, has observed a net 81.1 square kilometres seized in 2026 — about one twenty-seventh of the claim — and 626.85 seized or infiltrated, still roughly a quarter, and stresses infiltration is not control. The figure originated on a propaganda Telegram channel amplified by Russia's defence ministry; it is an interested party's uncorroborated aggregate.
