Rosatom (Russian state nuclear corporation)

government agency · Occupying operator of ZNPP30%credibility0 / 0 / 0

Why this score Russia's state atomic energy corporation and, through its subsidiary, the occupying operator of the Zaporizhzhia plant since 2022. Authoritative on its own actions (deliveries it organizes, personnel it deploys) but an interested party on the plant's safety and its own competence, and it has repeatedly disputed the on-site IAEA account to present itself as a capable, responsible steward. Record its figures and attributions, never let them steer a summary, and prefer the IAEA where the two disagree.

Rosatom has "full control" over the situation at the occupied Zaporizhzhia plant and holds very different estimates from the IAEA for how long it can run without external power.

Still untestable from outside: Rosatom has published no estimate to compare, and no independent party can audit “full control”. But since the claim the plant has halved its running generators and begun cooling intermittently to conserve fuel, while the IAEA's own margin shortened from about ten days to “within days”.
